Photos taken by app driver Jurandir de Brito, 60, shortly after his car was hit — in front of the Burger King hamburger restaurant, in the early hours of Saturday (20/12) in the southern zone of São Paulo — show that the bumper of the car driven by actor Dado Dolabella fell off after the collision (see the gallery).
The victim’s vehicle was hit on the right side, which was damaged, leaving Jurandir without his main work tool.
At Metropoliseshe said he did not recognize the actor. “People (in the cafeteria) told me later that it was him. If I had known, I would have filmed it, to show how aggressive he was with me.” The driver also added that upon exiting the car, Dado showed visible signs of intoxication.
Escape before the police arrive
When the app driver warned that he was going to call the military police, the actor allegedly called, after which he picked up the fallen bumper, placed it in the back seat of the vehicle and fled. The car involved in the accident and used in the escape is a black Volkswagen Taos, registered in Minas Gerais – as determined by the report – and belonging to a car rental company.
The actor was accompanied by his daughter, as he himself stated on social networks, in which he tried to attribute responsibility for the accident to the victim.
In a note sent to Metropoliseslawyer Juliana de Almeida Valente claims that the actor’s reaction, immediately after the collision, was “disproportionate and distorted”. “Combined with the escape, this led the victim to form the belief that the driver was not in the best condition to drive. »

The accident
According to driver Jurandir João de Brito, the episode occurred around 12:40 a.m., on Avenida Doutor Ricardo Jafet, at number 1833, in Ipiranga. He claims he was driving down the road when the car leaving the Burger King drive-thru came into his path.
“He (the actor) left the drive-thru at high speed and crashed into the side of my car. When he got out, he was transformed, appearing drunk.”
The police file, obtained through the report, indicates that moments before the accident, the actor was at Ricardo Jafet’s Burger King, where he was recognized by employees and regulars, who even posed for photos with him.
Running away from the accident
Regarding the dynamics of evasion after accidents, delegate André Moraes Castanho, responsible for the file, highlighted the recurrence of this practice, often associated with drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
“Unfortunately, it is common for people in this state to choose to leave the scene, seeking to avoid immediate responsibility. This conduct further complicates the situation and worsens the legal consequences,” says the police chief, in an excerpt from a police document.
The incident was recorded as an escape from the accident scene, with perpetrators unknown, despite reports pointing the finger at the actor. The civil police indicated that the formal identification of the driver could be carried out during the investigation.
Neither Dado Dolabella’s defense nor the actor were located by the report. The space remains open for demonstrations.
Criminal History of Dado Dolabella
In recent years, actor Dado Dolabella has been a recurring figure in police episodes and legal proceedings linked to aggressive behavior, particularly in the context of intimate relationships.
The most high-profile case occurred in 2008, when he was accused by his then-girlfriend, actress Luana Piovani, of physical assault during a fight at a nightclub in Gávea, Rio de Janeiro, and of also assaulting a maid who tried to intervene. The episode resulted in a sentence of two years and nine months in prison and the payment of compensation to the employee, even if part of the sentence was the subject of subsequent appeals.
In 2009, still under the influence of the Rio justice system, his then wife, publicist Viviane Sarahyba, filed a complaint for physical and verbal attacks during their marriage, which resulted in the granting of protective measures. The court also ordered him removed from his home.
Most recently, in 2025, Dolabella was sentenced to two years and four months in prison, in open regime, for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and cousin, Marina Dolabella, in 2020, in an episode involving slaps, punches in the face and hair pulling, as stated in the lawsuit, and which gave rise to the criminal action. His defense announced its intention to appeal the decision.
