PL-CE president responds to Michel after criticism related to Ciro Gomes

The head of the Liberal Party of Ceará, federal MP André Fernández, on Sunday (30/11) refuted the criticism made by Michele Bolsonaro regarding the party’s communication with Ciro Gomez (PSDB), who will run for state government in 2026.

The approach with Pedista goes against the party’s values ​​and goes against the political line defended at the national level, the former First Lady stated, at a PL event in Fortaleza.

Fernandez’s reaction to the press. He stated that coordination with the former minister took place “with the support of the national leadership” and that the initiative itself came from Bolsonaro.

“The wife of former President Bolsonaro comes and tries to get here to say that we took a wrong step, and President Bolsonaro himself asked us, on May 29, with the parliamentarians, to call Ciro Gomez on loudspeaker. It was agreed that we would support Ciro Gomez,” he announced.

The MP also stressed that the strategy has a clear electoral goal: to strengthen the Labor Party to compete for Senate seats in 2026 and to confront Labor in the state. “We have to defeat the Labor Party here in Ceará,” he said.

During her speech, Michele cited Ciro’s attacks on former President Jair Bolsonaro and questioned Ceará’s guide strategy.

He added: “Allying with the man who stands against the greatest leader of the right, this is not possible. (…) The person keeps saying that the family is a family of thieves, a family of criminals. He compares President Bolsonaro to a chicken thief. So, there is no way.”
