At least two votes from PSB and União Brasil deputies drew attention in the House during the vote on the “PL da Dosimetria,” a bill that reduces the sentences of Jair Bolsonaro and others convicted of the coup plot.
The first of these was the vote of Jonas Donizette (SP), who will be the leader of the PSB in 2026. Although he comes from a base party of the Lula government, the parliamentarian voted in favor of the report of deputy Paulinho da Força (Solidariedade-SP) for the reduction of sentences.

Donizette was the only PSB MP to vote in favor of the project. All other party parliamentarians, including vice-president Geraldo Alckmin, voted against or absented themselves from the vote in the early hours of Wednesday (12/10).
The second vote that aroused curiosity in the Chamber was that of deputy Luciano Bivar (PE), former president of União Brasil. Bivar voted to reject the project, unlike the majority of his party, which took a favorable position.
Bivar was responsible for sponsoring Jair Bolsonaro’s candidacy for the Palácio do Planalto in 2018. Then president of the PSL, the parliamentarian affiliated Bolsonaro with the party and launched him to the presidency that year, winning the elections on that occasion.

The former PSL leader, however, eventually broke with Bolsonaro in 2019, the first year of the former president’s government, due to differences in the party’s leadership. He then merged the PSL with the DEM, giving birth to União Brasil.
The PL Dosimetry was finally approved in the House by 291 votes to 148. Now the text goes to the Senate and still needs Lula’s approval. As the chronicle shows, PT members are betting that the President of the Republic will veto the text in its entirety.
