A judge ordered provisional prison, communicated and without bail, against a plastic surgeon accused of raping a woman while she was anesthetized in a clinic in Murcia. Two nurses recorded the events and reported them to police on Thursday, according to reports. Murcia’s opinion.
The events occurred last Thursday, when the arrested person was going to perform a chest operation on a patient from Molina de Segura at the IMED Virgen de la Fuensanta Hospital. With the woman already anesthetized, the two health workers observed the surgeon making strange movements that appeared sexual in nature. So they recorded the scene on video with their cell phone.
Later, according to the Murcia newspaper, both reported what had happened to the hospital and then to the police, from where the case was transmitted to the Family and Female Reception Unit (UFAM) of the Region of Murcia. With the suspect’s identity known, officers launched a search and located him at his mother’s home in Alicante.
The surgeon was arrested and spent three days in detention before appearing before the competent magistrate of Court No. 4 of Molina de Segura, where he did not want to testify. The judge ordered his entry into provisional prison, communicated and without bail, because he is the alleged perpetrator of an offense of sexual assault.
From the Ministry of Health of Murcia they claim to have received no notification on this matter. For its part, the hospital explains that the doctor does not work there, but rather rents an operating room for the procedure, a common practice. The surgeon had already operated in this clinic, as well as in others in the Valencian Community.
