The Bahia Civil Police arrested this Sunday (21) one of the suspects involved in the assassination of employees of an Internet company in Salvador.
Workers Ricardo Antônio da Silva Souza, 44, Jackson Santos Macedo, 41, and Patrick Vinícius dos Santos Horta, 28, were killed last Tuesday (16). The bodies were found in a public street, with their hands and feet tied, in the Alto do Cabrito neighborhood.
The investigation indicates that the crime was motivated by retaliation by drug traffickers linked to the BDM (Bonde do Maluco) criminal faction operating in the Maréchal Rondon neighborhood. They suspected that the workers were installing surveillance cameras on orders from the police or a rival faction.
The workers were reportedly killed in the Maréchal Rondon neighborhood, but the bodies were transported to the neighboring Alto do Cabrito neighborhood, an area where Comando Vermelho operates.
Another suspect involved in the crime, identified as Jeferson Caíque Nunes dos Santos, known as Badalo, was found in the Massaranduba neighborhood. Civil police said there was a confrontation and the suspect was hit by gunfire and taken to hospital, but died of his injuries.
The civil police investigation reveals that he was one of those responsible for the execution of the three workers. With him, the cell phone of one of the victims was found.
Operation Signum Fractum mobilized around fifty Civil Police agents and benefited from the support of the Public Ministry of the State of Bahia and the Bahia Court of Justice. The searches took place in the neighborhoods of Maréchal Rondon, São Marcos, Campinas de Pirajá and Massaranduba.
