The Civil Police clarified the dynamics of the crime involving the residents of São Paulo who died after 45 days of disappearance in Paraná. They died in August this year after being hired to collect a debt in that state and, according to the investigation, they were not tortured or held captive, being buried shortly after the murder.
Friends Robishley Hirnani de Oliveira, Rafael Juliano Marascalchi, Diego Henrique Afonso and Alencar Gonçalves de Souza disappeared after leaving São José do Rio Preto, interior of São Paulo, on August 5. The four bodies were only found on September 19 in a forest area of Icaraíma, in the interior of Paraná.
According to authorities, the perpetrator of the crime is still under investigation. The main suspects are Antônio Buscariollo and Paulo Buscariollo – father and son – who are the alleged debtors of the R$255,000 that the group went to recover.
Debt collection
The investigation revealed that Alencar, from Pará, had contracted the collection service with Diego. In recovered conversations between the two, Alencar highlighted that the Buscariollos were involved in illicit activities in Icaraíma and expressed fear regarding debt recovery and possible reprisals. The collection service would cost 50% of the value of the debt, according to information provided by Diego.
The conversations between Alencar and the other victims took place on August 4, perhaps before the Paulistas arrived in Icaraíma. Upon arrival in the city, the four traveled to Vila Rica, where they made their first contact with Antônio and Paulo, but failed to reach an agreement on the debt.

On the morning of the 5th, Diego sent audios to his wife, explaining what happened the day before and even said that “the guy even had a gun in his pocket. The old man carries a gun here. But today we are going back.” According to the Civil Police, the collectors returned to Vila Rica in the morning and returned to Icaraíma around noon. At 11:47 a.m., Diego sent new audios to his wife, saying the debtors were hiding.
After sending these audios, the friends returned to Vila Rica in the Fiat Toro found buried in a bunker, about nine kilometers from the property where the group was to collect the debt. The bodies were found about 500 meters from the bunker.

The investigation indicates that Robishley, Rafael, Diego and Alencar were killed upon their arrival at the rural property subject to the debt, around 12:30 p.m. The investigation indicates that they were the target of an ambush, fired by at least five firearms, of different calibers, fired from three different points.
According to the Paraná Civil Police, there was no kidnapping, the victims were not held captive and there was no torture, because the deaths were instantaneous. After the execution, the victims were taken to the burial site inside the Fiat Toro itself, placed in the grave where the bodies were found, and then the car was taken to the bunker and buried.
Police investigating involvement in organized crime
One of the police’s lines of inquiry is that the suspects and victims could be involved in organized crime. According to the investigation, the theory was strengthened when authorities learned that the collection debt, in addition to the error related to a rural property in Vila Rica, also involved “illegal affairs between the parties.”
Despite its work in this direction, the Paraná Police reiterate that it is still not possible to confirm that there is an illicit relationship between the friends Robishley Hirnani de Oliveira, Rafael Juliano Marascalchi and Diego Henrique Afonso – the victims; and Antonio Buscariollo and Paulo Ricardo Costa Buscariollo – the suspects.
Still according to the authorities, it was necessary, for the investigations to take place, to collect the criminal past of the suspects and the victims. Antonio is accused of illegal possession of a weapon and nothing appears on Paulo’s criminal record. In the case of friends, crimes such as threats, fraud, trafficking and attempted murder appear in the files. (see full list below).
Rafael and Robishley have already been arrested. Diego was not arrested, but he had records under his belt. Nothing appears in Alencar’s file.

The Paraná Civil Police stressed that there is still no defined date for the conclusion of the investigations due to the large volume of data being analyzed. In fact, a working group was set up to review the material. Investigations may still take months.
According to the authorities, it will only be possible to define the moment of death of Alencar, Robishey, Rafael and Diego and the dynamics of the events after the conclusion of several expert reports.
