The Seville City Hall will hold this Friday the Extraordinary Plenary of the Budget, an account for which the Popular Government has accepted most of the amendments presented by Vox, although the two parties are negotiating a broader political agreement, which will be essential for the formation of Santiago Abascal supports the economic document of next year.
Thus, despite a positive assessment of the acceptance of 16 of its 18 proposals, the group’s spokesperson, Cristina Peláez, stressed that “from today has not yet guaranteed” its support for the economic project next year and set two new red lines: “Eprevent illegal immigrants from being able to register” in the city and “leave without effect” the Low Emission Zone (ZBE) of La Cartuja.
Concerning the first, Vox calls for the development of a “reinforced protocol” to check the domiciliation of requests entered in the register a maximum period of 15 days, as well as the people themselves. Since, according to Pelaéz, this verification is not done correctly.
This request is added to the request to leave the La Cartuja Low Emission Zone without effect, which they describe as a measure that “attacks workers and families”to all those who cannot acquire a latest generation or electric vehicle.
In this sense, Vox proposes to “disconnect all cameras from the Cartuja and automatically stop issuing fines”, so that they are only activated when pollution peaks exceed established limits. In this case, the activation of the cameras, Peláez clarified, should only take place “by decree of the City Hall and with prior information of the users”, remaining in force until said values return to normal.
In this sense, Peláez emphasized that, as has already happened during the negotiation of this year’s budget, “this involves a series of political agreements of the utmost importance for Vox” and that “without them, it will be very difficult, if not impossible, for us to be able to support the budget of the 26th”, he declared.
Amendments accepted
Among the 16 proposals already accepted, of the 18 presented, stand out, among others, the creation of a space at the municipal cemetery for children unborn children worth 200,000 euros; and three new museums of Flamenco, History and Holy Week, all centered on Seville for a total amount of 226,000 euros. In addition to a child and youth suicide prevention plan with 30,000 euros and surveillance recruitment in the Plaza de España.
Additionally, it was accepted increase the allowance for new births up to 1.6 million euros; new aid for free competition for maternity support associations and modifying aid to pregnant women’s offices. To which must be added the increase in the budgetary allocation for companies involved in large-scale works, with a new help line worth 300,000 euros; as well as those intended for the cultural activities of the Inmaculada and San Fernando, patron saint of the city.
All these amendments were approved this Monday by the Finance Commission, while the dozen proposed by the PSOE were refused, which already showed his rejection of the budgetcoinciding with the left-wing Podemos-IU coalition, which presented an amendment in its entirety.
