An unpublished photo of Marília Mendonça has gone viral on the Internet. In the image, the singer appears next to the pilot of the plane that crashed on November 5, 2021, in the municipality of Piedade de Caratinga, inside Minas Gerais. The accident killed them both, as well as the co-pilot, the producer and Marília’s uncle.
The photo was published by Nagila do Vale, sister of pilot Tarciso Pessoa Viana. “Obedient son, caring brother, loving and protective father and present,” she wrote in the message published in honor of her brother. Viana died at the age of 37, leaving two children and his pregnant wife.
“Shocked by this photo,” says one of the comments on Nagila’s post, which until early this Tuesday morning (23) had more than 200 likes on Instagram. The image is also circulating on other networks, such as X and TikTok.

The twin-engine plane carrying the singer took off from Santa Genoveva airport, in Goiânia. The destination was Ubaporanga airport, in Minas Gerais. After landing, Marília Mendonça would depart by land to the town of Caratinga (MG), where she would present a show. The presentation was planned at the city’s Exhibition Center.
The plane crashed shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday, November 5, in the rural area of Piedade de Caratinga (MG), close to the BR 474 access road, where Marília was scheduled to perform. Firefighters reported being called around 3:30 p.m. At that time, images of the plane were already circulating on social networks.
Marília Mendonça was traveling in a small plane, a Beech Aircraft model. According to the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), the plane, from PEC Táxi Aéreo, had the prefix PT-ONJ, capacity for six passengers, was in good condition and had authorization to operate as an air taxi.
