This Thursday (11), the Military Police are carrying out an operation to combat motorcycle theft in the state of São Paulo. The Mega Cavalo de Aço action began in Charles Muller Square, to the west of the capital.
“Strategic blockades will be established on the roads where approaches and inspections of motorcycles, commonly used during thefts, will be given priority,” said Colonel Carlos Henrique Lucena, head of the operation.
Twenty thousand police officers from the Traffic Police Command, the Road and Shock Police, the Rocam (Otensive Motorcycle Patrol) and the Baep (Special Actions Battalion) will participate in the action.
In October, a similar operation led to the seizure of 2,900 motorcycles with irregularities. Most did not have licenses.
