Brazilian production company Barry Company, responsible for films such as “Eduardo and Mônica,” “A Happy Family” and “The Son of a Thousand Men,” is launching a new center dedicated to developing content in a vertical format.
One of the main products will be TV series on mobile phones, which have spread in Brazil after their success in China and the United States. Globo has just launched its first production of this type, the mini-drama “Tudo por uma Segunda Chance”.
The initiative will be implemented at Barry in partnership with Artistic Director Rica Mantoanelli, who has been working in the market for more than 25 years.
In addition to series, mini-series, reality shows and documentaries will also be created, all for mobile phones.
Work will start in the first half of 2026 and the idea is to produce between 25 and 40 titles in the first year of the core that will be led by Giuliana Funaro.
The producer wants to expand its operations focusing on the growing demand for vertical content in Brazil and beyond.
