This Tuesday morning started with simultaneous blockades on Puente Pueyrredón and Puente La Noriawhere the Polo Obrero and other organizations staged protests from the first hours to reject and accompany the labor reform National strike declared by ATE. The cuts at two strategic entrances to the city of Buenos Aires led to traffic delays and complicated traffic routes in the south of the Conurbano.
Numerous columns gathered along both routes and advanced toward the capital with flags and drums, while political and social groups attempted to join the central mobilization planned against the capital congress. The protest brought together labor demands, questions about the government-sponsored changes and the ATE calls for a day of nationwide strike and mobilization.

Authoritarians don’t like that
The practice of professional and critical journalism is a mainstay of democracy. That is why it bothers those who believe that they are the owners of the truth.
At the same time, the The Pueyrredón Bridge was the subject of a special operation by federal forces and the Buenos Aires policewhere the anti-picketing protocol drafted by the former security minister was implemented, Patricia Bullrich. The uniformed officers monitored the movement of the columns, established safety zones and ordered mandatory diversions to avoid a total traffic disruption. No serious incidents had been reported as of midday.
The restrictions on major access points directly impacted thousands of people trying to enter the city during rush hour. In some sections, traffic even collapsed, particularly in the final section of General Paz Avenue, where some traffic was diverted from the bridges.

Mobilization against Congress and claims against the government
After both entrances were opened, the organizations began moving to the center of Buenos Aires, where the national mobilization will converge. ATE has confirmed its general strike for todaycoinciding with the protest day of social movements carrying out activities in different parts of the AMBA at the same time.
In Plaza Congreso, the Space Territorioes en Lucha and other groups called for a protest to reject labor reform and demand full recognition of workers’ rights in the national economy. Among the slogans, the following stand out:
-Rejection of the reduction in AUH and family allowances.
-Requirement to work under an agreement with guaranteed labor rights.
-Update current social programs.
-Payout of a year-end bonus due to the loss of purchasing power.

Cuts across the country and Embassy of Belliboni
On social networks, leader Eduardo Belliboni reported the start of “simultaneous cuts throughout the country, from Río Grande to Jujuy and from Córdoba to Buenos Aires,” with blockades in La Matanza, Ruta 3, Liniers, Saavedra, Puente La Noria and Puente Pueyrredón. In his publication, he again questioned the labor reform and warned that the measures would continue in line with national protest.

The day comes in a climate of high political tension, with Congress the epicenter of the lawsuit and a security operation deployed to contain the spread in one of the key weeks of the legislative calendar.
