Even if it appears as a favorite among the bookmakers, PSG (FRA) could experience significant absences against Flamengo, Wednesday (12/17), in the Intercontinental final. After all, defender and captain Marquinhos and winger Ousmane Dembélé still make coach Luis Enrique doubtful.
The players, however, trained this Monday (12/15), the day the Parisian squad arrived in Qatar. It was after the 3-2 victory against Metz on Saturday (13/12), in the last match before the trip to the Middle East. The duo’s chances of joining PSG’s starting lineup have thus increased.
Brazilian Marquinhos did not play the aforementioned match against Metz due to a muscular problem. However, he was present during the 0-0 draw against Athletic Bilbao (ESP), last Wednesday (10/12), in the Champions League phase.
Dembélé did not play the two aforementioned rounds, having been absent since December 6. It was during the 5-0 defeat of Rennes in Ligue 1. On this occasion, he contributed to the rout at the Parc des Princes. Subsequently, he was absent due to the flu. Mayulu, who had a physical problem, only traveled this Monday and could also be among those listed.
The only definite absence from Paris is right-back Hakimi. After all, he suffered a serious sprain to his left ankle following the challenge from Bayern Munich’s Luís Díaz in the Champions League on November 4. The expected return is between six and eight weeks.
