MOTION FOR IMMEDIATE OPENING OF ETHICS COMMITTEE REQUESTS TO PT AGAINST WASHINGTON QUAQUÁ
“Obviously, the Rio police, Bope, only killed idiots, tramps and criminals” (QUAQUÁ, 2025).
These are the words of Washington Quaquá, national vice president of the PT, regarding Operation Contenção, a massacre that occurred in the Penha and Alemão complexes and promoted by the governor of Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Castro, and the state’s public security forces.
This declaration and others, in defense of this operation, are an affront to the party’s program and manifesto and are allied to a project of death of black and peripheral youth, defended by the extreme right and Bolsonarism.
It is not new that Quaquá has intensified his fascist speeches, which go against the precepts of the party, without any measure commensurate with his declarations being taken within the PT authorities.
Quaquá maintained public relations with General Pazuello, responsible for “covid kits” in the Bolsonaro government. He questions the political relevance of President Dilma for the 2022 elections. In addition, Quaquá publicly defended the Brazão brothers in the Marielle Franco affair.
There are today three ethics commission requests against this gentleman. The Youth of the PT, gathered at its 6th National Congress, demands that the National Executive of the PT admit and follow through on the existing demands of the Ethics Commission, including the request of Minister Anielle Franco, and that it punish Quaquá for the atrocities he says and commits.
