Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in his daily briefing to the media, “The meeting with Vitkov is scheduled to take place tomorrow.” Peskov specified that the meeting would be held in the afternoon.
On Sunday, Witkoff, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner received a Ukrainian delegation in Florida. The two sides described the talks as “fruitful.” The US President later said that he saw “good chances” of reaching an agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
Washington promoted a plan to end the conflict that has been going on for nearly four years, and is now seeking to complete it with the approval of Moscow and Kiev. Witkov had already met with Putin in Moscow last August.
While awaiting the meeting between Putin and Wytkov, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet on Monday in Paris with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, to talk about “conditions for a just and lasting peace,” according to the Elysee.
