Russia’s special envoy Kiril Dimitriev stated that the first meetings held this Saturday in Miami with US representatives began constructively and would continue until Sunday.
“The talks are constructive. They have begun and will continue today and tomorrow,” Dimitriev assured in statements to journalists after the first contacts, reported by the Russian news agency TASS.
Dimitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and the Russian president’s envoy to Washington, met with US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
The Russian representative had landed on US territory just hours before the meeting, which would mark a new step in negotiations over the situation in Ukraine.
This Saturday it became known that the United States has offered Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a new peace negotiation format that envisages the joint participation of delegations from Ukraine, Russia and probably some European countries.
