Coach Rafael Guanaes, who had a good campaign with Mirassol in Serie A 2025, has emerged as a possible target for Botafogo to replace Davide Ancelotti, but has not yet been contacted.
In contact with the blog, the coach was surprised by the information according to which he would be in the plans of the SAF led by the American Jhon Textor.
– I don’t know. I travel. He had renewed (contract) before closing the competition – recalled Guanaes, who extended his contract with Mirassol until the end of 2026.
Neither the coach nor his managers have been approached by Botafogo. When asked if he would be willing to hear a proposal, Guanaes preferred not to comment.
In Botafogo, names are already being analyzed to choose Textor, which will centralize the negotiations. The hope is to conclude with the new coach by next week. AND it won’t be a medallion.
