
The editor of the Economy section of EL PAÍS and Five days Raquel Pascual Cortés received the IEE Prize for Best Economic Journalist, awarded by the Institute of Economic Studies, in its 2025 edition.
The award recognizes the work of journalists who have experience and who have demonstrated consistent excellence in the field of economic journalism, regardless of the media. With the prize awarded this Tuesday to Raquel Pascual, the jury, made up of personalities from the Spanish economic world, recognized the quality and consistency of her work.
Pascual Cortés, graduated in Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, began her professional career in the newspaper Soria 7 days and to the Europa Press agency. After his first steps in the world of journalism, he followed information on employment, social security, pensions and labor relations for 25 years, to Five daysfirst, and also for EL PAÍS. During this period, he was responsible for covering the various labor and pension reforms; as well as several general strikes.
In addition to his extensive journalistic work, unanimously recognized in the sector and for which he has received awards such as the Unespa Prize for Life Insurance Journalism, in its third edition, or the first Journalism Prize of the German Chamber in Spain, he has also given presentations and moderated tables on the Spanish labor market.
