Robles transfers his absolute confidence to the Supreme Court after the sentence condemning the fiscal general is made public
The Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, expressed her “total and absolute” confidence in the Supreme Court after making public the sentence that condemns the fiscal general of the state, Álvaro García Ortiz, and revealed that if we do not trust “all” institutions, “democracy does not work.”
Robles made these statements a few minutes after the Supreme Court made public — 19 days after delaying the fall — the sentence that supports the conviction of García Ortiz both in the filtration of the postal press with the admission of two crimes against the Hacienda of the couple of Isabel Díaz Ayuso and in the press release that issued the Fiscalía. March 14, 2024.
Although he said he did not know the terms of the case, Robles felt it was better than being heard publicly before and he recalled that it was a sentence written by five members of the court in front of them.
“I believe deeply in the courts of justice and the obligation in a rule of law is to believe in the courts of justice,” Robles declared to Congress before appearing before the Official Secrets Commission, then insisting on his “full confidence” in the Supreme Court.
The sentence imposes on García Ortiz years of disqualification from the position of fiscal general and 7,200 euros for the crime of disclosing confidential data, and is based on the private vote of two magistrates, who supported the acquittal. (Efe)
