House arrest
“After Silvinei’s attempted escape, Moraes orders house arrest for those found guilty of a coup” (Panel, 12/27). After all, when do the police call the attacker a criminal? When he attacks democracy and the people of the country? When to falsify documents? When do you try to escape?
Marcia Shimae Tokashima Nishiye (São Paulo, SP)
Prevention is better than cure. Is there (was there) a risk of leakage? Yes? Then the house and other precautionary measures.

British Columbia under attack
“BC finds itself attacked in the Master case and calculates the next steps” (Economia, 12/26). My respects to the employees of British Columbia. Fulfill the functional obligation. And STF, what is the reason for the secrecy of the affair?
Néli Faria (São Paulo, SP)
Politicians and businessmen behind this attack on B.C. A lot of dirt is coming and they want to cover it up!
Antonio Ferreira de Castilho (Dois Córregos, SP)
Right and left
“Datafolha: 34% of PT members are on the right and 14% of Bolsonaristas are on the left” (Politics, 12/26). Many people do not understand the concepts of right and left. Some repeat what they hear without understanding, others not even.
Heloisa Gomes (Rio de Janeiro, RJ)
I prefer conservatives to progressives. This seems to be becoming clearer.

Architectural battle
“Architecture is becoming a political battlefield, with conflicts between right and left” (Ilustrada, 12/27). It is not new that architecture is the scene of ideological conflicts. It has always been and will continue to be this way.
Ediney Fortes du Prado (São Paulo, SP)
The use of modernist architecture is also selective, just look at Minha Casa Minha Vida.
