With the aim of promoting a common regional literacy agenda, the 2025 Regional Meeting of the Reading Comprehension Movement will take place from last Tuesday to the 16th of this month. A conclave that brings together representatives of governments, civil society, multilateral organizations and universities, as well as teachers and managers from Latin America. The sessions take place virtually and can be followed via YouTube.
The initiative is being developed in a context where one in two students in the region does not reach the basic level of reading comprehension, according to data from UNESCO’s latest ERCE assessment.
In this sense, the event will bring together more than 50 educational leaders from different countries in the region and will be organized by the Reading Comprehension Movement, which brings together leaders from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
