The full-back received the Brasileirão’s best left-back award and ensured he remains at Leão for the Libertadores clash
Mirassol ended the year in style at the Brasileirão. On his debut in Brazilian football’s elite, Leão Caipira finished in fourth place and secured a place for next year’s Libertadores. Thanks to this, the club from the interior of São Paulo had two representatives in the CBF championship selection.
One of them is Reinaldo, who won the award for best left-back. The player celebrated the season and also highlighted the conditions that the club offered the team to do well in 2025.
“It was a great season with the Mirassol jersey. I didn’t imagine much, but I imagined that we would have a good campaign. Our work has been very well done, the club offers excellent conditions to achieve this performance and has crowned a work that does not only come from 2025,” he said in an interview with CBF TV.
Thanks to the excellent championship, Reinaldo has already entered the radar of other Brazilian clubs. However, the full-back guarantees that he has already renewed with Mirassol as soon as the club confirmed his stay in Serie A and that he will honor his word.
“I had some polls to leave, but I am happy at Mirassol. Since the match where we scored 46 points (confirming our retention in Serie A) against Fluminense, everything has been renewed and I value my word. There is speculation, but I have a contract with Mirassol and I also want to play in the Libertadores with Mirassol”, he emphasized.
Experience with casting
At 36, the full-back has become one of the most experienced players in the Mirassol squad. Reinaldo revealed that he worked a lot with goalkeeper Walter and coach Rafael Guanaes to bring more peace of mind to the youngsters. Furthermore, the full-back hopes that next season will be as good as the previous one.
“Walter and I work in the best possible way off the field. Professor Rafael always talks to us to help the younger players on the field. I hope 2026 will be as wonderful as this 2025 season was,” he concluded.
