Residents of a condominium in Perdizes, in the western zone of São Paulo, claim that Enel changed the start date of the outage in the protocols that call for the restoration of energy supply. According to sources, it is suspected that the company made this change to minimize the problem and avoid charges in the future regarding the delay in turning the lights back on at the site.
The residents who denounce the change in protocols live in a building on Rua Bartira, in Perdizes. Initial records indicate that the power outage began on Wednesday (10/12), at 12:46 p.m., in the middle of the historic sequence of wind gusts that hit the capital São Paulo.
Protocol that informs of the start of the power outage on December 10
However, a new protocol indicated that the problems did not begin until Friday afternoon (12/12), at 4:35 p.m. Until Saturday morning (13/12), residents were still without electricity in the neighborhood.
Protocol indicating the start of the outage on December 12
The building’s assistant manager, Ricardo Isaac Bellelis, 56, says the unrest began on Wednesday and since then the situation has deteriorated. He suspects Enel changed the start of the outage in the protocols to minimize future accusations. “Certain technological frauds to try to save time. They should be regulated by response time,” he says.

Residents demonstrate against Enel after 48 hours without electricity
Bellelis says that, as in other areas of the city, residents have suffered in recent days from the lack of electricity. “We have a mother who stored breast milk in the refrigerator. A 97-year-old resident needed to store her medication in the refrigerator,” he says.
What does Enel say?
Asked this Saturday (13/12) about the situation reported by residents, Enel did not comment on the discrepancy in the start dates of the outage in the protocols, but said that technicians “are in the area to check the entire electrical circuit that also passes through Rua Bartira.”
