Boric congratulates Kast on his victory: “I will always be available to collaborate for the country”
President Gabriel Boric summoned the newly elected President José Antonio Kast, in a traditional ceremony between the outgoing president and the one who will lead the next Administration. The communication, which was broadcast on television, showed the two men in a cordial dialogue. “I want you to know that as President of the Republic, I will always be available to collaborate for the country,” Boric said. The current leader also warned his successor about the personal consequences of occupying the La Moneda seat. “At some point you will know what the solitude of power means, where you will have to make very important decisions,” he said.
Kast thanked Boric for his willingness to collaborate in the transfer of command, which will take place on March 11, 2026. “Let it be a very orderly and respectful transition and I would be very interested to have his opinions, his point of view and his vision for the country after March 11,” he said. The Republican said his wife, Pía Adriasola, would accompany him during his meeting with Boric this Monday at the La Moneda Palace.
