Players like Ganso, Marlon Freitas and Rayan, who continue to play football in Rio de Janeiro, and Éverton Ribeiro are some of the main attractions.
As the end of the season approaches, charity events invade the sports news and, this Monday (22), Rio’s football stars will celebrate at the Carioca Arena, in the Olympic Park. The traditional socio-sporting project “Craques do Ajante” joins the “Escola de Lutas José Aldo” and “Formando Champions-Nova União”. The three initiatives come together to celebrate the last part of the year and the end of their activities in 2025.
Thus, from 5 p.m. (Brasilia time), actions that combine sport and social aspect invite professional players like Paulo Henrique Ganso, who plays for Fluminense. Marlon Freitas, from Botafogo, Rayan, from Vasco, and Everton Ribeiro, idol of Flamengo and currently in Bahia. Other attractions will be music figures and internet celebrities.
Thus, the event in the southwest area of Rio de Janeiro will offer solidarity matches, which will welcome as spectators around a thousand students from the projects. Children will also participate in the festivities in the form of conviviality. The first charity game will be a confrontation between two of the largest pagoda groups in the country: “Amigos do Sorriso Maroto” and “Amigos do Revelação”.
Then, from 7 p.m. (Brasilia time), the “Amigos do Craque” match begins, with the participation of those stars who follow or have played in Rio football. SporTV will broadcast these two duels this Monday (22). Finally, at 7 p.m., Brazilian music celebrities take the stage to party with the children.
Trajectory of the “Craque do Ajante” project
The initiative created in 2012 has football as a basis to promote inclusion and social transformation. The ideology of the project is to develop educational, cultural and socio-assistance practices alongside sport. Around five thousand people receive benefits on a monthly basis. Furthermore, the
“Craque do Ajante” has famous sponsors such as midfielders Everton Ribeiro,
Paulo Henrique Ganso and striker Vagner Love. In addition to actress Juliana Paes.
The series recalls Rio football in the 90s
Also this Monday (22), Sportv will launch the audiovisual production ‘1995 — In the Time of Bad Boys’. The documentary series recalls the details of the centenary of Flamengo and episodes of Rio football.
Beyond the sporting aspect, the production offers a broader reading of the transformations of football and the stands of Rio. The clubs, which in the 1990s were still competing despite their debts, experienced a long period of difficulties at the start of the following century, before regaining importance thanks to new financial structures.
