Rob Reiner and his wife died from “multiple sharps injuries,” according to a report.

Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner died from “multiple injuries caused by sharp objects,” according to a report from the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office published this Wednesday the 17th.

The medical examiner ruled the cause of death a “homicide,” records show, indicating the deaths were caused by someone else.

Nick Reinerone of the couple’s children, was arrested and officially charged with fatally stabbing his parents. If convicted on all counts, the boy faces life in prison without parole or the death penalty.

What happened

Director Rob Reiner, responsible for cinema classics such as Count on mewas found dead in his home, next to his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, aged 68. On the afternoon of Sunday the 14th, the bodies were found at the couple’s home in Brentwood, Los Angeles.

Nick already had substance abuse problems that began as a teenager, with several hospitalizations until he was 19 years old. He was the screenwriter of the film Being Charlie (2015), based on his own struggle with addiction.
