Rob and Michele Reiner’s son, Nick Reiner, was arrested on suspicion of killing his own parents. The information was revealed by TMZ. He was in custody at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Monday morning (12/15).
The couple was found last Sunday (12/14) by one of their daughters – both with their throats cut – inside the house where they lived. It is not yet known what triggered the death, but it is suspected that the crime occurred after an argument.
Nick had already encountered problems since he was a teenager. At the age of 15, he was hospitalized for treatment of drug addiction, the first of 17 hospital admissions. In 2016, at the age of 22, he gave an interview to People magazine in which he shared his story of addiction and relapse.
