A video recorded by Nick Reiner in 2016 has recirculated after his arrest for the deaths of his parents, director Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner. In the recording, he says they’ll have to get him out of jail.
Rob Reiner dies
- The bodies of Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 70, were found on Sunday (12/14) inside the couple’s home in Brentwood, an upscale neighborhood of Los Angeles.
- The couple’s son was arrested in the evening of the same day as the main suspect.
- Officially charged with murder, he was held without bail.
- According to TMZ, he appeared in court on Wednesday (12/17). If convicted, Nick could face the death penalty.
- Besides Nick, Rob Reiner and Michele were also the parents of Jake and Romy. The filmmaker was also the father of Tracy, the result of his relationship with Penny Marshall.

In the old video posted by People, Nick plays a musician called Dddavid. He is being questioned inside the Reiner family home, according to reports
“And I don’t care if anyone calls me Sally, because I’m a snail and I’ll never fail. And you know what? You’re going to have to bail me out of jail,” he says at one point.

Fight at the party
Shortly before Rob and Michele’s deaths, the two were seen arguing with their son at a party. At TMZ, host Conan O’Brien’s guests reported that Rob, Michele and Nick had a “very heated argument.” The couple reportedly left shortly after.
A few hours later, this Sunday (12/14), Rob and Michele were found by one of their daughters with their throats cut inside the house where they lived. According to the Daily Mail, the couple had planned a massage for the next day.
According to the international press, Nick has been confronted with crises since his adolescence. At age 15, he was hospitalized for drug addiction, the first of 17 clinical admissions.
