David Pérez Nieto picks up the phone:
− Him there, yes.
Nieto is the duño of a gigantic truck. Perhaps the most famous truck in Extremadura. Many means of communication have echoed what is there since 2018: a Ferrari 458 Italia, 59,500 euros in gold, two motorcycles, a quad, trips, bicycles, prizes, more prizes. Around 300,000 euros in price. The opposite: “The gift truck”.
The giveaway truck is a draw. Anyone can buy a ticket for six euros and participate in the raffle which takes place on the 6th. This is the start of a fruit shop in the Leo service area of the municipality of Monesterio. A store located on the A66 highway which goes up from Seville to Madrid. This evening, Nieto, 38 years old and creator of this Christmas initiative, turned on his cell phone at three in the morning.
It was an employee of the Securitas Direct company, who arrived with five hooded men, with black hats and white gloves, parking a high-end coach on their truck with gifts. In a few minutes, the safe was taken away with 60,000 euros and 2,000 slips. A spokesperson for the Extremadura Civil Guard confirms the facts and that everything is in the “investigation phase”.

“I came running. He’s 10 minutes late and I’m not there,” Nieto says now on the phone. “There was 24-hour surveillance, but just at that time the security guard was in the truck area. Here they were sometimes stolen, but not yet. The box weighs 300 kilos!”
The robot was very fast. Just two and a half minutes. In the security footage, you can see five thieves opening the back door of the truck with gifts. Here, extract the safe and in a few seconds connect to the tourist bag. The maletero, of course, does not arrive. But that doesn’t matter. In just a few seconds, the covers are ready for the car with the botín.
“What the price is is intact,” says Nieto. “This does not affect the draw, if one of these stolen slips is touched, it will be repeated again. The draw is done in front of a notary. What was stolen from me was the safe with the money from the slips.” Thieves on the trail at the moment.
