MADRID, December 17 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Russian authorities announced this Wednesday the capture of another town in the Ukrainian province of Dnipropetrovsk, amid territorial advances obtained during the last months of the invasion, launched in February 2022 on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Units of the Eastern Military Group continue to advance into the depths of enemy defenses and have liberated the town of Gerasimovka in Dnipropetrovsk,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a brief statement published on its Telegram account, without Kiev authorities commenting on this information.
Russia has made progress in recent months in Ukraine, with the epicenter in Donetsk. In September 2022, Moscow annexed the partially occupied provinces of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, while it also managed to penetrate Kharkiv, Sumi and Dnipropetrovsk, in addition to annexing the Crimean peninsula in 2014.
