Moscow, December 6 (EFE). – Russian anti-aircraft forces shot down 116 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over ten regions of the country last night, the Russian Defense Ministry reported this Saturday on its Telegram channel.
According to the military report, most of the kills (29) occurred in the Ryazan region, southeast of Moscow and more than 400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
Another 74 drones were intercepted and destroyed over the Voronezh, Bryansk, Belgorod and Kursk regions, all of which border Ukraine.
The defense added that the other drones were shot down over the Tver (six), Lipetsk (three), Tambov (two), Tula (one) and Oryol (one) regions.
According to the official Russian agency TASS, due to the drone attacks, airports in the cities of Yaroslavl and Tambov, the capitals of the regions of the same name, have temporarily suspended operations to ensure the safety of flights.
Ukraine launches attack drones against Russian territory on a daily basis with the aim of damaging its energy system and especially its oil processing capacities, damaging the Russian army’s logistics and depriving Russia of this important source of funding. EFE
