An eight-year-old child was hit by a tourist bus, early in the afternoon of this Sunday (21), in Gramado, Serra Gaúcha. The accident occurred around noon, on a road near Lago Negro, a busy area.
According to the Military Brigade, the group was maneuvering in the area when they ended up hitting the girl. She suffered a broken leg and was immediately treated by emergency teams called to the scene.
The victim was traveling with his family, of Russian origin, according to information provided by the BM and the firefighters. After first aid, the girl was taken to São Miguel Arcanjo Hospital, in Gramado. Later, as her condition stabilized, she was transferred to Pompeia Hospital, in Caxias do Sul, where she remains under medical observation. The state of health is considered stable.
The bus driver underwent a breathalyzer test which revealed no alcohol consumption. He was taken to the police station to provide clarification and declared, in his first report, that he had not noticed the presence of the child during the maneuver, having only learned of the collision after hearing the cries of people nearby.
The matter continues to be investigated.
