The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, participated this Friday in the closing rally of the PSOE campaign in Extremadura, and there he focused on the attack on the PP candidate, María Guardiola, whom he accused of spread a “hoax” to cover up “cases of harassment”.
Sánchez participated in an event in the town of Villanueva de la Serena in Badajoz with the socialist candidate, Miguel Angel Gallardoand declared that “it’s the same old PP, they only have electoral results when they win and if not, it’s disaster.”
Sánchez joined the case of the driver and close friend of Guardiola convicted of mistreatment and the complaint against the mayor of Navalmoral de la Mata (Cáceres), with the theft of 124 votes by mail in Fuente de Cantos (Badajoz).
According to Sánchez, Guardiola “did not hear about either of these two cases, but he knew, even “in front of the Civil Guard”, that “a theft committed by common criminals was a real disappointment.” According to him, the PP practices “mirror technique” : “Criticize the opponent for what he himself does.”
Sánchez asked the residents of Extremadura to vote on Sunday for the PSOE, the only party that “can stand up to PP and Vox.”
The president of the government took the opportunity to attack again Isabel Diaz Ayusopresident of the Community of Madrid, who he criticizes for having said that Spain is heading towards an authoritarian drift in which one cannot speak with “insults all day long”.
He also attacked the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, who, according to him, declared in an interview that since he is president “It’s almost like all the women are rushing at him.”
He also indicted the national leader of the “popular”, Alberto Nuñez Feijóo. “The one who said that Huelva was in the Mediterranean and that Badajoz belonged to Andalusia, saying that the Andalusians don’t know how to count. But how patient you have to be with this right!” he said.
Sánchez also attacked the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, due to alleged remarks by the right-wing politician about the recently deceased Extremoduro singer Robe Iniesta.
“Listening to Abascal saying that he was going to disinfect the place where the family was, in the auditorium, is that even to try to make jokes that they insult“, said Pedro Sánchez.
Gallardo asks for citizens’ support
For his part, the candidate Miguel Ángel Gallardo asked for the support of citizens so that the community regains the strength lost in the last two and a half years with the government of María Guardiola and “raise your voice” again.
Likewise, he hopes to have the support of Extremadurans in the elections this Sunday, December 21, to reverse policies and cuts in areas such as health, dependency or education. “We are on time”he said.
Faced with the clearly unfavorable polls and the wave of corruption and sexual harassment scandals that hit the PSOE and Pedro Sánchez, Gallardo asked “to have confidence, to believe in our possibilities”.cheer up and that’s what we’re going to do from Sunday. Stand up, raise your spirits, but also raise up, also raise your voice,” he said.
