This Wednesday, Let’s see spoke live with Sparkle, the Santa’s Spanish Elf in Lapland: “I worked as an entertainer for many years and it was one of my big dreams. I found out it existed, that you could come here to work as an elf and I said ‘here we go’.”
“We have an elven school in which we are, more or less, a week. We learn songs, how to behave around humans… a little bit of everything. It’s difficult, but it’s easy to do,” Sparkle said.
Likewise, the elf explained what his daily life consists of: “What we do most is collect humanstake them to different places and be with Santa. “We take them to meet Santa, make Christmas decorations, cookies… A little bit of everything.”
Regarding Santa, Sparkle emphasized that he is her “best friend”: “It’s very funny, very nice… It’s really magical.» Furthermore, the young woman explained how children react to the presence of Santa Claus: “They become very nervous, some look as if to say ‘what am I doing?’ Normally, we are with them ten minutes before because we have to queue, we usually dance with them and they relax a bit. “We ask them what they want to say to Santa so they can think about it and prepare something.”
But the excitement is not only reserved for the little ones: Santa Claus also receives many visits from adults: “The families of adults who seem more excited about Santa than children“.
