The midfielder signed for two years with São Paulo, with the possibility of extension, and reached the free transfer for the 2026 cycle
São Paulo recruited midfielder Danielzinho, a star of Mirassol, and guaranteed its first reinforcement for the 2026 season. Tricolor acted quickly in the market, winning the conflict against Corinthians, in addition to the club from the interior of São Paulo, which intended to stay with the player, an agreement was reached for the athlete to perform at CT da Barra Funda early next year.
Danielzinho will arrive in São Paulo for free, since his contract with Mirassol ends on December 31. It is a negotiation treated as a priority by the board of directors of the Tricolor, which sought to avoid a possible attack from the rival and concluded the agreement within the framework of its strategy of specific reinforcements, even while going through a financial scenario considered difficult.
The 31-year-old midfielder has signed a two-year contract, with the possibility of extending for another season depending on the achievement of pre-established objectives. Despite his age, São Paulo has positively evaluated the physical history of the player, Danielzinho has been very regular in recent seasons, with 46 matches in 2023, 49 in 2024 and 50 matches played this year, even in the current season he has spent 4,340 minutes on the field and has only missed one Mirassol match, figures that favored his signing.
At Mirassol he played the last three seasons and established himself as an important player in midfield, attracting the attention of Serie A teams, and even with the possibility of playing the group stage of the Libertadores for Mirassol, the player preferred a transfer to São Paulo, which is still waiting for the result of the Copa do Brasil to know if he will play in the pre-Libertadores in 2026.
The midfielder’s arrival is part of São Paulo’s next cycle planning, which aims to adjust the squad and recruit up to six reinforcements. In addition to Danielzinho, the management is still prioritizing the search for a defender, a right-back and an attacking midfielder, looking to strengthen the group for next season.
