Senator Magno Malta (PL) criticized Fábio Faria, former Minister of Communications in the Bolsonaro government, for his speech at the inauguration of the SBT News news channel.
During the ceremony, attended by President Lula and Minister Alexandre de Moraes (STF), Fábio Faria, married to businesswoman Patrícia Abravanel, declared that SBT “has no party” in politics.

Magno Malta disputed this statement: “It was one thing for Silvio Santos to say that SBT has no side. It is another, quite different thing, to hear this from Fábio Faria, who played a leading role in the Bolsonaro government,” the senator said this Tuesday (15/12).
“Bolsonaro is a Samson surrounded by Delilah. It’s hilarious to hear that from Fábio Faria,” said the parliamentarian, quoting the famous biblical passage on betrayal. Malta said it prayed on Monday for the health of the former president.

SBT became the target of controversy and debate on social media after inviting Lula and Alexandre de Moraes to the news channel’s inauguration and reportedly disinviting opposition political leaders such as Flávio Bolsonaro.
During the ceremony, the President of the Republic delivered a speech in support of the STF Minister and celebrated the repeal of the Magnitsky Act by the United States government. After the episode, Zezé Di Camargo asked the channel to no longer broadcast a Christmas special that the conservative singer had already recorded in the channel’s studios in São Paulo.
