In total, three preventive arrest warrants and four search and seizure warrants were executed. The court also ordered the freezing of assets and valuables belonging to those under investigation.
During Operation Luxúria, police seized watches, glasses and imported perfumes, cash and a car worth around R$120,000.
More details:
- Investigations began after victims began reporting the crimes. One of them lost around R$30,000.
- Police counted 15 victims in more than 10 municipalities in Espírito Santo, all lured by fake encounters on the Internet.
- According to PCES, Camila Francis was the leader of the criminal group and had previously been arrested in other operations.
- She created profiles on dating sites and, after attracting men, began making threats.
The investigation revealed that the scammer contacted victims via digital platforms, exchanged photos and personal information, and arranged meetings that never took place. He then began threatening to leak conversations and images to the victims’ families, relatives and wives, demanding money to keep silent.
On social media, Camila bragged about a life of luxury, with posts about cosmetic procedures, plastic surgeries performed on her and her daughter, as well as international travel. According to the investigation, this entire standard of living was financed by money obtained through extortion.
