FIFA details impressive figures on public demand for tickets in the United States, Mexico and Canada

Divided between the United States, Canada and Mexico, the 2026 World Cup is already a case of success. After all, there are almost six months until prom, but demand for tickets is already at historic levels. This Monday (29), FIFA announced that the number of ticket requests set a record for the World Cup. There are more than 150 million in 200 different countries.
According to football’s top international body, the World Cup sees 30 times more registrations than previous editions, based on individual credit card numbers sent with each ticket request. In detail, this demand represents 3.4 times more than the total number of viewers who watched, on sitethe 964 matches of the 22 editions of the competition, since 1930, in Uruguay.
“The 2026 World Cup is poised to become the biggest and most inclusive spectacle on the planet. More than 150 million tickets have already been requested in the first 15 days alone. A true demonstration of incredible fan demand. The massive fan response is a true representation of how our game is loved around the world. We will make history in North America by bringing the world together like never before in a celebration of unity and the best football,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
FIFA also warns that after the end of the current phase there will be a draw, guaranteeing equal chances to all those who requested tickets. In fact, those who do not succeed will have the possibility of guaranteeing their place in subsequent sales phases, because, of course, the entity offers more entries.
The World Cup begins on June 11 in Mexico. The final will take place on July 19 in New Jersey. The next edition will bring together, for the first time, 48 teams and 104 matches.
