In 2025, Fluminense saw the biggest investment in signings. Adding up the two reinforcement windows of the year, Tricolor spent around R$207.8 million on 15 players for the professional team. Considering this, Jogada10 took stock of the players who gave the team the most results during the season.
Of the 15 recruits, Fluminense only had four players test positive. Striker Canobbio, the biggest signing in the club’s history, took time to integrate into the team, but later stood out for his tactical dedication and dedication on the pitch. In 58 games, he scored 13 goals and five assists, making 18 goal contributions.
In midfield, Hércules and Lucho Acosta were also present on the pitch. The midfielder arrived from Fortaleza and also had difficulty adapting. However, he has been one of the important names in the Club World Cup, as well as forming a great partnership with Martinelli. On the other hand, the Argentinian took a while to be used, but once used he became a maestro. However, production has dropped off in recent games.
Finally, an honorable mention to left back Renê. The player arrived under suspicion, but has shown consistency throughout the season. He made a few mistakes, but surprised a lot of the fans.
They left something to be desired
Along with the positives, there were players who were not performing well and received a lot of criticism. The main one was the striker Everaldo, who arrived at Fluminense to be the man in goal. However, he couldn’t get the job done. He only scored eight goals, in addition to having difficulty finishing on goal. Still in the offensive sector, the Venezuelan Soteldo arrived at Flu during the Club World Cup. He had few chances, but when called upon he did not perform well and was criticized. He appeared as the surprise at the end of the year, with two goals and an assist. But very little.
In the defensive sector, defender Freytes, who played for Alianza Lima, also had difficulty adapting. Lots of errors in passing and marking, but there was a slight improvement when forming a pair with Thiago Silva. He finished the season with 62 games, but felt insecure at several points. The idol was essential in the organization of the defensive sector and, therefore, in the posture of the Argentine on the field. However, limited and tends to be a starter in 2026.
Few opportunities
Finally, the three coaches who worked for Fluminense throughout the year failed to recruit. Igor Rabello, Lavega, Lezcano, Otávio, Pitaluga and Santi Moreno had little time with the tricolor jersey. The main questions of the season have been the non-use of Lavega, Lezcano and Santi Moreno. The answers were unanimous: adaptation. In fact, all three have uncertain futures for next year.
