The Casa & Gourmet shopping center, in Botafogo, is organizing this Sunday (21) a special edition of Natal Azul, an action aimed at autistic children. The initiative is the result of a partnership with the Association of People with Autism Spectrum Disorders (APTEA) and offers a carefully prepared environment to welcome neurodiverse children and their families during the end-of-year celebrations.
Designed to stimulate the senses and respect the needs of each child, the meeting brings together a series of adapted activities, such as sensory games, painting, music, massage sessions or even a haircut. The proposal is to offer a fun and emotional experience in a safe space, where each child can participate at their own pace.
Natal Azul is part of the Pequenos Chefs project, which promotes Christmas-themed workshops on Sundays in December. In tomorrow’s edition, children will learn how to make lollipops in a hands-on, interactive activity. The workshops take place from 3 p.m., on the Casa & Gourmet event space, with free entry. Each course will accommodate up to ten participants in 30-minute classes, aiming to ensure a more individualized service.
— This is the start of a partnership with APTEA, and our proposal is to transform Casa & Gourmet into a welcoming and integration space for all neurodiverse families — explains Juliana Reis, marketing manager at Casa & Gourmet.
The shopping center is located at Rua General Severiano 97.
A support, reception, information and support network for autistic people and their families, APTEA defends the application of rights such as educational inclusion and priority in queues. The association has its headquarters at Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana 749/602.

Jazz and gastronomy on the square

The sixth edition of the Pici Jazz Festival ends this weekend at Praça Nossa Senhora da Paz, in Ipanema. After two postponements, the event began on Friday and continues to bring together musical performances and a space dedicated to gastronomy in a space open to the public.
Created by restaurateur Leo Rezende and organized by Grupo Glória, the festival was born from the proposal to extend the Pici Trattoria experience beyond the restaurant. Located on Rua Barão da Torre and recognized by the Bib Gourmand label of the Michelin Guide, the Italian house is at the origin of the project, which combines music and gastronomy in a square format, accessible to different audiences.
In the gastronomic area, visitors will be able to taste dishes from Pici Trattoria and Glória Bistrô, opened this year, as well as dishes created especially for the festival. Options include snacks such as crispy feta balls with honey and fleur de sel and a pastrami sandwich served on house-made Jewish bread. The menu also includes pastas such as penne with homemade sausage ragu and potato gnocchi with cheese and mushroom sauce, as well as signature cocktails, classic drinks and a selection of wines.
On Saturday (20), the musical programming begins at noon, with shows by Power Swing, Camilla Marotti, Festa Americana DJ Set and Lica Tito. Tomorrow, from the same time, Manouke Gypsy Swing, Afrojazz, Marquinho Osócio and Go Black will take the stage to close the festival.
Rezende recalls that when Pici Trattoria opened its doors around ten years ago, the region still had few gastronomic offerings, unlike other neighborhoods in the southern zone. Since then, the proposal has been to contribute to the cultural occupation of the area around the square, strengthening the relationship between public space, music and gastronomy.
— Ipanema, in the 1970s and 1980s, was a neighborhood that set trends in fashion, culture, music and lifestyle. It was a party place! When we decided to open Pici, in 2016, our intention was to restore this vibrant atmosphere that was being lost. Almost ten years later, we see that it has been possible to revive this vocation and contribute to making Ipanema, once again, a very strong cultural and gastronomic hub in the city. It is also in this context that the Pici Jazz Festival was born, by expanding the cuisine that we prepared in the restaurant to include music and by proposing another project for lovers of the neighborhood, says the restaurateur.
