Senator Bolsonaro Marcos Rogério (PL-RO) intends to run for governor in 2026, despite advice from ex-President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for his allies to focus on running for Senate.
In private conversations, the senator said he would be a candidate for the government of Rondônia, where he will face former governor Ivo Cassol (PP) in the conflict for command of the Rio Madeira Palace.

For the Senate, Rogério’s plan is to support deputy Fernando Máximo (União-RO). The parliamentarian would also have to run in government elections, but he would negotiate his place with the current senator.
In November 2024, as the chronicle shows, Bolsonaro asked Marcos Rogério to run for re-election to the Senate, to help the right win the majority of seats in the House.
