
The third section of the Provincial Court of Córdoba sentenced to 14 years and six months in prison a man who stabbed in the abdomen to her ex-partner, who was 28 weeks pregnant. The sentence was ratified this Wednesday by the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA) in its entirety, except with regard to the compensation of the victim, since it revokes the civil declaration of 30,000 euros granted by the Court.
The events occurred in the Cordoban town of Fuente Palmera in December 2023 when the victim, after breaking off the relationship with the accused, went to that town to live with her grandparents. The woman had to undergo surgery to repair the injuries caused and took 40 days to recover.
The sentence sentences the defendant to 11 years in prison for attempted murder and attempted abortion; two years and six months for habitual physical and mental violence and one year for threats in the area of gender-based violence.
He was also banned from possessing weapons for three years and sentenced to a three-month fine of fifteen euros per day for a minor offense of mistreatment. The judicial resolution also includes a ban on approaching the victim and withdraws her parental rights over her son.
