Sesi Bauru defeats São José and continues in the G8. See the 8 teams guaranteed in the Copa Brasil

In turn, Sesi Bauru beat Viapol São José by 3 sets to 1 – partials of 22-25, 25-16, 25-21, 28-26 -, Saturday evening (20/12), in São José dos Campos (SP), in the last round of the Men’s Volleyball Super League 2025/26.

They have thus secured a place in the G8 and now know who they will face in the quarter-finals of Brazil – a tournament which brings together the eight best teams in the Superliga.

Sesi Bauru’s rival in the Copa Brasil qualifiers is leader Vôlei Renata. The other six ranked teams are: Sada Cruzeiro, Praia Clube, Saneago Goiás, Guarulhos BateuBet, Suzano and Itambé Minas. The crossings will only be defined after the match between Goiás and Minas, this Sunday, at 11 a.m., in Goiânia, at the end of the shift. The clash will be broadcast on VBTV and Sportv.

São José ended up winning the fourth set by four points in the final stretch (20 to 16), but Sesi Bauru adjusted the marking of the opposing attack, improved the defensive system and built the turnaround of counterattacks.

Pointer Gabriel Vaccari – who scored 11 points in the fourth set and was instrumental in the partial turnaround – scored 23 points in total and was the main scorer for Sesi Bauru. Central Barreto, with 18 hits, was another highlight of the São Paulo team and won the VivaVôlei Trophy. Opposite, Davi scored the most points for São José: 28 times.

After the break for the end-of-year festivities, the Men’s Super League returns in January with the first round return. Sesi Bauru faces Joinville on the 9th at 6:30 p.m. in Santa Catarina. São José welcomes Suzano on the 10th, at 9 p.m.
