The Court of Seville established prison sentences of seven and a half years for the two main accused of being responsible for the Valme crime. A case which ended with the death of a man after being stabbed in the leg and bleeding to death after being abandoned at the gates of the Virgen del Valme hospital in Seville. The two murderers attacked the victim for stealing drugs.
The accused had their sentence reduced since they risked more than thirty years in prison. The reduction took place after the facts were established, a compliance agreement was concluded between the parties, as well as after payment of 130,000 euros in civil liability. It should be noted that, in the case of two citizens of Algerian and Moroccan origin and considering that they are both in an irregular situation, part of the sentences can be replaced by their expulsion from the national territory.
Subsequently, the lawyer defending one of the two defendants requested the suspension of his expulsion, which his client defended given that his family is in Seville. “If they deport me, I will come back” He himself warned about his roots in the city of Seville.
Thus, the parties have expressed their agreement with the modifications introduced concerning the provisional qualification document of the Prosecutor’s Office. On the other hand, both must compensate the victim’s family with a little more than 350,000 euros to the victim’s parents, brother, partner and two children.
Concerning the rest of the people involved, the first of them accepted two years in prison for the offense of receiving stolen goods, while the second accepted two years in prison and a fine of 10,000 euros for a public health offense. However, the court agreed to suspend the sentence for these same people, subject to the obligation not to commit similar crimes within three years, as well as a fine of 800 euros for one of them and work for the benefit of the community.
How the crime happened
The facts date back to September 2023, when two of the defendants, who “were engaged in the sale of narcotic substances on the illicit market, was the victim of the theft of a significant quantity of hashish. They then learned that their goods were being “put into circulation in exchange for money” by two other defendants, who are in a parent-child relationship.
Indeed, continues the public prosecutor, “a few days before September 29, 2023, father and son met” the victim of the episode, who was “responsible for acting as an intermediary in the sale and purchase of narcotic substances, in particular hashish”. Both parties agreed to the delivery of “twelve unlabeled packages of approximately six kilos of this drug, which they received with the aim of sending it to the illicit market in exchange for money.” The aforementioned substance was delivered to them on the morning of September 29, 2023 and was kept at their home, waiting to find buyers.
At this point, the two main convicts were willing to recover “what they considered to be theirs and to enrich themselves through its subsequent sale.” They therefore “developed a detailed plan including meet the current possessors (father and son) of hashish posing as buyers. His objective was to discover, according to the directives of the prosecution, the place where it was stored “with the desire to use all the means at his disposal for this purpose, including physical and psychological violence”.
During the execution of the plan, as detailed in the document, the two accused were left, through strangers, with their father and son, posing as potential buyers, make an appointment “to carry out the transaction of the goods in the car parks” of a large commercial area to the east of Seville.
On their arrival at the meeting place, the two defendants entered the vehicle of the father and son, underlines the public prosecutor, “violently, carrying weapons with which they intimidated the occupants”, while demanding that they “the delivery of all the medicines offered for sale, specifying that they belonged to him and that they had been stolen”. After that, they transported the victims of the attack to the Hacienda de Cuzco “without the possibility of abandoning the vehicle due to their fierce opposition and aggressiveness.”
During the journey, follow the scripture, The people interviewed managed to convince the detainees to telephone the intermediary so that they stay with him so they can get him back. The son accepted “for fear of suffering greater harm to himself or to his father”, so he telephoned “under the pretext of making payment because he had buyers” and agreed to pick him up in the car parks of the Virgen del Valme hospital in Seville.
At 8:08 p.m. The same day, continues the prosecution, the victim approached the vehicle in which those who telephoned him were, “having been approached” by one of the people investigated, “who had hidden among the parked cars, who pushed him violently towards the rear seats of the vehicle” to “hold him against his will and take him to the Hacienda del Cuzco in order to force him to reveal the whereabouts of the rest of the narcotic substance“.
Thus, continues the Public Prosecutor’s Office, during the transfer, the occupants tried to force the victim to provide them with information. The convicts stabbed him “with a knife in the right leg, which caused a stab wound” approximately six centimeters deep, an injury which led to his death an hour later.
Finally, the writing details, once at the farm and “verifying the serious condition that the leg injury would have caused” in the victim, who was still alive, “They decided to take him back to the Valme Hospital and leaving his body abandoned at the access gate around 9:15 p.m. “The victim died of hypovolemic shock due to acute hemorrhage at 9:30 p.m..”
