In a traffic accident that occurred on Wednesday evening in the La Loma district of the city of La Plata, three municipal employees were injured and had to be taken to a health center for treatment.
The incident occurred on 26th Street, between 38 and 39 in front of Alberti Park, when, for reasons that are still unclear, a Municipal Patrol Ford Ranger truck collided with an ESUR garbage collection truck that was stopped on the street with its flashing lights on.
The accident injured the three occupants of the municipal vehicle: the driver Zumilda Acosta (49), Viviana Gonzales (57) and Esteban Malcorat (56). After identifying various ailments, they were attended to on site by SAME staff and then taken to the Alejandro Korn Hospital in Romero for medical examination.
Meanwhile, the collection truck was driven by Ernesto Jesús Teti (54), driver of the ESUR company, who did not suffer any injuries.
According to reports, neither party had the vehicle documents at the time of the incident as there were no logistics staff available that night. On police orders, both vehicles were impounded and taken to La Loma police station while experts worked on site to determine the mechanics of the accident.
The case was classified as “Unlawful Violations” and was handled by the UFIJ No. 10 of La Plata, with the intervention of Prosecutor Carlos Vercellone.
