He Seville Town Hallthrough the Department of Urban Planning and Environmental Management, continues to improve the surface of the Ronda del Tamaguillo, 2.5 kilometers long, in the San Pablo-Santa Justa district. To the work already carried out in the section … between Avenida de la Paz and Avenida Hytasa and the underpass, the resurfacing works have been awarded for the route that connects Francisco Buendía and Marqués de Pickman Avenues.
These works will specifically have an investment of 371,000 euros; and that of Avenida de Hytasa and San Juan de la Cruz, with a budget of 349,000 euros. With these two new asphalts, the municipality will completely recover the surface of this important road in which it has invested a total of 1,789,900 euros.
The Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, emphasized that “with these actions, this fundamental axis of the city of Seville will be completely renewed. We thus put an end to a path which presented numerous potholes and deterioration on the road“, considerably improving road safety and reducing noise produced by road imperfections.”
Regarding the improvements that will soon be made in the two sections, Mayor Sanz highlighted that “as in the other routes of the Ronda, also in these parts of the road there has been a loss of materials and breaks in the concrete of the roadway along the entire length of the road, which has led to an increase in noise caused by road traffic.
This intermediate layer has the capacity to absorb the movements caused in the slabs. due to thermal changes and thus improve flexibility. Using the same type of bitumen as the intermediate layer, the wearing course itself will then be installed, thus reducing the noise generated by the tires and even some of the mechanical noise, thanks to its porosity.
The project also includes the elimination of all architectural barriers that may result from the work, by raising the level of the road above that of the borders due to the inclusion of new layers of agglomerate. “With the works in the Ronda del Tamarguillo, we are responding to a historic request from the city after the commitment I made during the campaign to improve the asphalt throughout the city,” concluded the first mayor.
