Local police announced on Monday that they had seized more than 2,000 counterfeit clothes on San Jacinto Street in Seville, as part of an operation against illegal street vending developed in response to thethe demands of neighborhood traders. … Some of them were hidden in an ice cream parlor and a grocery store on the aforementioned road.
As Urgences Sevilla reports through its official ‘X’ account, consulted by Europa Press, part of the merchandise was located insideNeighborhood businesses that collaborated with sellers by storing clothes in front of the police presence.
Thus, last Sunday afternoon, as part of the Special Christmas Plan, members of the Local Police deployed an operation in the aforementioned street in the city of Seville to try to eradicate illegal street sales in the area, an action which, according to them, “responds to the demands of traders in the area”.
The device was activated around 3:00 p.m., and they intervened 20 lots containing more than 2,000 counterfeit clothes.
Six of them intervened on public roadswhile the others were detected in two establishments in the area, including an ice cream parlor and a food store which “collaborated with street vendors by hiding the merchandise from the police presence”. Note that eleven packages were seized in the back room of the food store and three in the ice cream parlor.
For their part, those responsible for these businesses will be prosecuted for receiving stolen goods, by “helping the perpetrators to escape police action”. Likewise, the goods were placed in police stations to be destroyed after appropriate procedures.
