The preparatory session of the House of Representatives witnessed strong controversy after A Open mic recorded an alleged sexual comment attributed to the interim president of the council, Gerardo Cipollini (UCR Chaco). The phrase, which spread quickly, sparked a sharp confrontation with the MP Cecilia MoreauWho demanded a public apology. The Chaco lawmaker denied uttering those words and rejected any responsibility.
In the audio recording, which can be heard on the official broadcast, the phrase “how good she is” is heard, an expression that could have been said in reference to the female MPs present in the room. This leak was the motivation behind Moro’s intervention after the swearing-in ceremony.
Moreau’s claim: “Women are much more than just bodies.”
A visibly upset MP took the floor to disavow the comment attributed to Cipollini: He added: “The widespread news has to do with the interim president of this council commenting on one of the representatives, saying: How beautiful she is, or about three representatives, and this is already present in all the media.”

Murrow asked not to downplay the impact of the incident and focused on the treatment of women in Congress: “Some laugh, others don’t care, but women are much more than just bodies. We are the head, the heart, the ideas, the courage, and the perseverance in our actions inside this hall.”
Then he demanded a public apology: “I humbly ask Rep. Cipollini to apologize for this statement.”
Cipollini responded: “I will not apologize for something I did not say.”
The radical legislator asked to speak to reject the accusation and confirm that the incident was caused by a technical defect: “Technology has advanced almost to the point of subconsciousness. That’s why you come out and say things you didn’t say.”

Then he was frank: “I will not apologize for something I did not say in any way. I do not accept this accusation.”
Cipollini stressed that his personal behavior distances him from any expression of this kind: He added: “I am an adult man, I have daughters, I have granddaughters, and I will never allow myself to say such a statement in an atmosphere of respect. I completely deny the allegations that were raised against me.”
