British composer, singer and guitarist Chris Rea died on Monday at the age of 74. The prolific author of hits like “Driving home for Christmas” and “Josephine”, also recorded with Elton John and particularly recognized in the United Kingdom. “He died peacefully this morning in hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by his family,” reported his relatives, whom they received “with immense sadness.”
Rea’s discography includes 25 studio albums, the result of a career that spans nearly four decades. His song “Fool (If You Think It’s Over)” reached the top 10 of Billboard magazine and many of his songs have been viewed tens of millions of times on Spotify and YouTube.
