The criminals took a motorcycle, a cell phone and a helmet; the vehicle was recovered by the Municipal Civil Guard a few hours later
The rapper Rael was robbed this Saturday morning 6, at Villa-Lobos Parkin the western area of Sao Paulojust a few hours before going on stage for a show scheduled for 3 p.m. at the same location. The artist was in the park for a run when he was approached by two thieves as he left the parking lot on a high-powered motorcycle.
Security cameras recorded the moment of the crime. The images show Raël validating the parking ticket and waiting for the gate to open as the suspects approach. One of them removes the musician’s helmet and takes possession of the vehicle, while his companion gets in the back. The artist’s cell phone, attached to the dashboard, was also seized.
The motorcycle was then found by the Municipal Civil Guard of Osasco with tracker support. Raël said on social media that the cell phone had also been recovered.
“I was very lucky,” he said. In another post, he advised his followers not to react: “The greatest asset you have is yourself.”
The musician said the device may have shut down due to overheating during the ride. He returned to the park after assault and carried out the planned presentation. No suspects have been identified or arrested so far.
Rael is a Brazilian rapper, singer and songwriter from São Paulo, nominated twice for the Latin Grammy.
