THE Civil Guard arrested six people who formed a criminal group dedicated to the introduction of hashish from Morocco south of Spain using helicopters. They transported by air between 500 and 900 kilos of drugs to the … provinces of Malaga, Almeria and Murcia, where they were hidden in ships and farms.
In this operation, named ‘Turn‘, 657 kilos of hashish and five firearms were seized, in addition to one of the helicopters used for drug trafficking between the two countries, in addition to cash and several vehicles during the searches carried out in the provinces of Malaga, Almería and Murcia.
The movements in the early hours of the morning of several people investigated between Malaga and Almeria aroused the suspicions of investigators Civil Guard of possible large-scale drug trafficking. The agents discovered that these movements were caused by the close collaboration they had with others who made constant shipments of drugs from Morocco.
They used helicopters of different categories, capable of transporting between 500 and 900 kilos of drugs which, after spending time in industrial warehouses and farms in the area, were transported by road to European countries.

Plane of Morocco They landed in sparsely populated areas of Almería province where several people were waiting to unload the hashish and take it in vans to the various nurseries. The helicopters were hidden in warehouses and farms in Almería and Murcia awaiting the next shipments.
With all the information in the possession of the Civil Guards, they carried out a search in a property located in Nijar (Almeria) where they found inside 25 bales of hashish weighing 657 kilos. Then, five more searches were carried out in different areas of Malaga, Almería and Murcia where, among other things, one of the helicopters used, five long weapons, 2,900 euros in cash and several vehicles were seized.
The Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie, the Belgian Federal Police and the Swedish Police also participated in the operation.
A total of six people were arrested for crimes of drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons and membership of a criminal organization which have already been brought to justice.
This operation was carried out by agents of Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of Malaga with the support of the Regional Center for Analysis and Intelligence against Drug Trafficking (CRAIN), the Central Operational Unit (UCO) and the Rapid Action Group (GAR) of the Civil Guard.
